Acupuncture is an ancient form of medicine that began in China over 5,000 years ago. Its roots come from observing nature and then applying the same cyclical patterns to the body in order to describe and treat disease. Needles about the size of a human hair are then used to stimulate specific points on the body as a way of promoting the body to heal. Acupuncture treats a wide spectrum of issues including but not limited to... Acute and Chronic pain, Digestive issues, Anxiety, Depression, Insomnia, PTSD, Infertility, and Stress relief.
Acupuncture Initial Visit
Our initial acupuncture visit generally lasts 90 minutes. During that time we review your past medical history as well as take an in depth look at your current reason for seeking treatment. This allows us to devise a treatment plan specifically tailored for you and your needs. Acupuncture treatments will often be integrated with herbal consults, cupping, and other modalities.
Acupuncture follow-ups last for 60 minutes and include a brief update since the last treatment, with the remaining time spent relaxing into a place of healing. Acupuncture treatments will often be integrated with herbal consults, cupping, and other modalities depending on necessity.
Herbal consultations last 30 minutes. Past and present medical histories are taken and integrated into developing an herbal formulation that best suits your needs. Herbal formulations come in pill, powder, and or tincture forms.

Cupping is a technique that uses small glass, plastic, or silicon cups suctioned to the skin in place, or moved along the skin with oil in order to loosen tight muscles. It is commonly used for acute neck, shoulder, and back pain resulting from tight muscles. Cupping may, or may not, be appropriate for conditions of chronic pain. If the practitioner determines that cupping is not an appropriate treatment for a patient’s pain, a regular deep tissue or acupuncture treatment will be performed instead. Disclaimer: Please be aware that cupping often leaves some reddish or purple marks on the skin; these usually disappear within a few days to a week.

CranioSacral therapy (CST) is a gentle treatment approach that works with the natural, self-correcting mechanism of the body and the CranioSacral System (the membranes and fluids that surround the brain and spinal cord) to detect and release restrictions in mobility and enhance function. The rhythmic movement of the CranioSacral System can be palpated and used to determine the core issues so that treatment can focus on the cause rather than the symptoms. Clients often report a sense of deep relaxation during and after the treatment session. Wear comfortable clothing. Disrobing is not required for this therapy.
